Project Life – the start of Clearwater, FL

We were in Clearwater, FL for 2 weeks and I ended up with 6 pages for this area. We did a lot so I have a lot to show and tell. Here are the first two pages.

Project Life – The Start

It took me awhile to figure out how I was going to do (or even if I wanted to do) project life pages. I really thought I wanted to do a paper version this year. I figured that would be a good way to save the ephemera that I collect from the places we visit. But it never happened, I never got motivated to start. That’s when I realized that I really like doing digital much more. So that’s what I’m doing this year. Here are the first two pages. (I haven’t figured out an intro page yet.) What I did decide is that I’m not doing it by week. I’m going to do it by campground, or, more precisely, the town we are staying in. This is the first few days of the new year. We left St. Marys, GA and spent a few days in Orlando, FL.

Project Life – Week 1

So far I am really liking using the smaller book. I can’t put every story in, well I could if I wanted to add more pages, but I’m OK with that. I like the simplicity and the fact that I can just scan the spreads to put them on the blog. Four pictures, some words and I’m done. One week documented.

Project Life January tab

I finally finished the tab for January in my new Project Life book, well, finally in that it’s January 3rd already! And since I don’t even have the binder yet it really doesn’t matter.

I painted the tab orange and then for the front I added a copy of an email I got from Notes from the Universe because it summed up my goals for this month (and year) wonderfully.

The calendar is a modified version of a freebie from DeviantScrap.

Project Life 2013

Happy New Year.

It’s time for another round of Project Life. This year I’ve decided to go smaller. I used the Simple Stories Sn@p book for my December Daily and I really liked the size of it. So, I made a last minute decision to go with that size binder. I was going to go digital but I like having a book where I can stick ephemera, even thought I don’t collect a lot of that. But anyway, since my decision was last minute I didn’t end up ordering the Snap book until December 30th so it won’t be here for awhile.

I ordered two binders to start and I went with one orange and one brown. I also order some sheet protectors, mostly the ones that hold 4×6 size pictures/cards/etc.

Luckily I have sheet protectors, insert pages and dividers left over from my December Daily so I can get started even without the binders.

This year I’ve decided to document on a monthly basis rather than daily or weekly. That way I can include the important things and not have to include pictures of my backyard trees just to use all the spaces. Not that I have a problem using my backyard trees in my PL or other not big “important” events. But, the way our life is right now, we don’t always have a lot going on. Both daughters are living elsewhere and the pets don’t really change that much.

To start out I used the free Simple Stories printable pages. It’s not exactly creative but it fits the bill. The creativity part will come into play when I do the actual spreads (well, at least that’s the plan.)

I did get creative with the divider! I painted it orange and I’m going to put some collage or something on it. I’ll post that when it’s completed.
