Catching up: April 15, 16, 17

We took our first trip in our new-to-us motorhome.

We went to Cape May for 2 days. We left on Monday April 15 and went home Wednesday morning. It was cloudy and cool the first day we got there but turned sunny but cool the next day. The campground was nice, if a bit on the tight side. It was a good thing no one was next to us as there was not a lot of room between sites. The pool looked nice.20130415-DSC_0004On Tuesday we drove down to the city of Cape May. We parked along the ocean and then walked around a bit downtown. They have a very nice pedestrian shopping street. A lot of the stores were still closed for the winter but we did manage to find an ice cream store that was open.

The Victorian houses in Cape May are spectacular. Most of them, at least the ones in town, are now Bed and Breakfast places. They all looked like they would be wonderful to stay in.

After our walk around town we drove down to the state park that houses the lighthouse. The park is right on the water and it looks like it would be nice in the summer. It was cold and windy this time.

Wayne climbed the lighthouse while I stayed on the ground with Forrest. All told it was a great trip and we got used to most of the motorhome. The only problem we ran into was that the water heater wasn’t working – it was leaking – so that needs to be looked at. Otherwise, I’m happy with it.
